Working the tan and of to Byron!
Melbourne in spring means only one thing: Unpredictable weather as always but, when the sun comes out... it's freaking brilliant.
Avoiding work, relaxing and relaxing on South Melbourne Beach. Because everybody knows that it's way better than St. Kilda Beach.

W.A., anyone? W.A.?
All this lack of updates is mostly caused by a lack of internet and.. also... laziness.

The new Just Like Ed
Here it finally is, the new version of Just Like Ed. After weeks of slaving over it and continuously getting more stressed, it's finally done.
As I am leaving for Australia in the morning I can unfortunatly not fill the entire site up with content just quite yet. In the mean time, that's one of the reasons why the new Just Like Ed, and the old Just Like Ed are both online.

The most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have, and a wombat
Travel advice fit for every man, from king to servant: Don't panic. Whilst it's an excellent idea it doesn't match up to the simplicity of getting drunk and hugging a wombat.

The best new Australian TV!
Just like the big players in the field, it is far more important to create a promo about the stuff you'll be showing later on than actually showing the stuff itself. New Just Like Ed Adventures coming!

Swanky Public Holiday and beaching Brighton
The Melbourne Cup Carnival is upon us. It is once again time to get dressed up and lose lots of money! And if that's not your cup of tea, we also poked some jellyfish. After playing with an Aerobie Pro.

Snowboarding makes people wet
While Mt. Buller (Victoria, Australia) treated us with respect, kindness and amazing runs, determination was tested by Mt. Baw Baw (Victoria, Australia) with something close to torrential rain.
Despite being wet down to my underwear myself and others still had a good day and some awesome runs on Mt. Baw Baw. Though not everyone will agree with this.

Shark porn and equal rights! (Day 26 - June 10, 2010)
My otherwise calm trip to the Melbourne Aquarium was interrupted by a rally for equal rights/equal pay for women (and I think volunteer workers too?) in the work place. Fun to start the day with a little social outrage but, for the rest: smooooth sailing.

On the road to Byron Bay!
After 217 days in Australia it was finally time for me to leave my Melbourne home and venture out in to the rest of the country. Where else is better, but Byron Bay?

Ned Kelly was nothing compared to us!
Unlike Ned, we made it out of the Old Melbourne Gaol alive. Not unscathed though... damage was dealt to the gaol and to us.

Monopoly money, alien sun and dangerous roads

Melbourne's Geeks v. Nerds
When you fill a convention centre with geeks and nerds, things will get rowdy. After all, there's nothing worse than a bunch of geeks disagreeing over their comic book knowledge... or even worse... about the inaccuracy of each others.

Losing money on the ponies and scary people
In preparation of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, the swankiest holiday in existence, we went to the races leading up to it at Moonee Valley Racecourse on October 29, 2010. The day after (October 30) was our pre-Halloween celebration, where we dressed up like

Let the sun shine
The sun burns brightly at Melbourne's Federation Square tonight. As Rafael Lozano-Hemmer's "Solar Equation" shines. A projection of the sun's surface generated on the fly using the magic of fluid dynamics.

Kangaroos in the snow
Kangaroos look mighty funny in the snow. That's probably why they like to stay in the bush. Some fun in the sun... and snow... on a little day trip to Mt. Buller in Victoria.

It's okay! I know a doctor! She just can't drive...
"So good I had to do it twice" is the unofficial tag line for this trip. Though the initial reason was far more unimpressive, this is the second time I drove the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. On this second trip I had the pleasure of Pete and Camilla as c

Footy (AFL), Footbal (or soccer) and some random times
The concept of spectator sports can be compared to going to a restaurant for the soul purpose of watching other people eat. A trip to the MCG, a Footy match, some World Cup and a Dutch guy in the Aussie papers.
